This being my first post I would like to explain the title of this blog.
God made the earth and everything in it in six days and rested on the seventh. I believe these "days" the bible speaks about are normal sunrise sunset days. Why? I see no reason to read the text any different. Now before you start wondering if I am blind to the world with closed ears, no I'm not. I have heard and read the arguments for day age creation, the gap theory, and the natural evolution of the planet. Out of the ones I listed I find that sciences arguments for natural evolution over billions of years to be quite compelling. They really do tell a great story. Scientist have connected so many dots and explained so many questions that it really seems that they know for certain the events that happened millions of years ago. I could keep going on but that is enough about science for right now.
The day age theory was and is an attempt to reconcile sciences discoveries with the Geneses account and in my opinion it utterly fails. The theory interprets the "days" in the creation account as "ages"
I completly throw this theory out the window if only because it was in response to sciences discoveries and assumptions which should not be our foundation when interpreting the bible. I don't need to change what I believe to match up with current accepted scientific thought. It simply makes no sense to attempt to appease these people on this issue while they assert that God is dead. Sorry for getting a little ramped up there I can get pretty passionate about what I believe.
In closing many people assert that the earth being created in six literal days is absurd, and it is for that reason that I use the word paradox. Because no matter how absurd it sounds it's true. Just as true as Jesus Christ dieing for our sins (and there are many crazy theories and interpretations about that too and I don't see us compromising on it) Hence "The 6 Day Paradox"
